Driver Hp Color Laserjet 2600n Mac Os X

Looking for the print driver for an HP2600n on OS X Mavericks.
Ideas? The HP website only lists drivers through OS X 10.7 and says 'You should get the driver from Apple'

Well, HP Color LaserJet 2600n software application and also driver play an vital role in terms of operating the tool. With Software for HP Color LaserJet 2600n installed on the windows or mac computer system, users have full access and the choice for utilizing HP Color LaserJet 2600n.

  1. HP stopped providing drivers for this printer at OS X 10.7 (sometime in 2011) on their site. However, there remains driver support for the HP Color LaserJet 2600n in the new HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for OS X that you can download from Apple, if it didn't appear in your Mac App Store Updates.

Mac

I'm a recent convert to mac from using PCs for a very long time. I'm trying to get the printer to work, but I may be missing a step somewhere. After some searching I found this thread -- followed what you did with the download and it installed the drivers, but when I went to re-install the printer it still wouldn't print. Am I skipping something after installing the drivers? I had double-clicked on the downloaded driver package, opened it and it did a few minutes of an HP installation process. Then I installed the printer but it looked like it did before when I went to install it -- do I need to tell it to look elsewhere for the drivers?
Thanks!

  • I need a Ricoh SP 204SN printer driver for Mac OS X Mavericks. Can anyone help.

This is a few years old, but it's the best I can do. I stopped using Windows many years ago.
If you have specific questions, maybe I can answer, but remember I don't have access to any Windows newer than XP. I think setup will be similar, but I don't know if the Windows-side software will be compatible with W7 or W8.

  • I have an HP PSC 750 connected to an airport express base station. It shows up in the printer browser when I click the add printer button (it says Bonjour under the connection type). However, under the 'print using' drop menu it won't auto select a driver and I've tried several HP drivers that were in the list and they did not work correctly (I just got pages of random letters and numbers when I tried to print). So I installed the software from the HP website and if I connect the printer directly to the computer this works fine. However, not with airport express - the HP setup assistant has a thing that searches for the printer and it can find it when connected directly to the computer (USB) but it can't find it on airport (it has a TCP/IP option for typing in the network address of the printer but I'm not sure what that would be or if thats even applicable to this case). So I guess my question is: Can I even use this software with the printer on airport or do I need to do something else?
Thanks very much for any help!

henry, i've noticed you've solved several users' problems printing over airport. i'm hoping you can solve mine: i have a g5 imac running os v10.4.2 which cannot seem to print via airport express' usb to an hp color laserjet 2600n. when i run printer setup utility there is no driver selectable for the 2600n (however there is when it's connected directly to the imac via usb). when i select a generic hp color laserjet driver, the 2600n shows up via bonjour in my print dialog box, but nothing ever prints. meanwhile, my g4 powerbook running v10.3.9 can print to the 2600n over airport with no problems (and its printer setup sees a driver for the 2600n via rendezvous). i've contacted hp support and they've deemed it an airport issue. any clues? thanks!

  • I moved up from OS X 10.6 to 10.9 and lost the driver for my printer (Canon Pixma MP950) .Canon does not have a driver for this printer on Maverick and. Apple does not have one either. Do I have to buy a new printer? Any other solution?

I found it in the USA Consumer and Home Office section.

  • Im having a problem with a few parts to it but the main problem is my Apple Genuine DVI to Composite is no being recognized correctly. & not allowing me to mirror or multiple screen or anything. It wont even broadcast a signal to the secondary screen or anything. This all started when I upgraded to Maverick OS. I'm pretty sure apple has a driver for this problem. Can anybody point me to where I can find it?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi there djshotgunn,
There is not a specific driver that you would need to download outside of Software Update. I would recommend taking a look at the troubleshooting steps in the article below if you are experiencing video issues with an external monitor.
Apple computers: Troubleshooting issues with video on internal or external displays
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1573
Many common display issues can be resolved easily by making sure the software on your Apple computer and the firmware on your video adapter, display and Thunderbolt cabling is up to date. Check for updates for Apple products by using Software Update, the Mac App Store, or visiting Apple downloads. Check with the manufacturer for any updates that may be available for displays, extenders, or adapters not made by Apple.

    Hi christianfromvohenstrauß
I'm glad you know where to check for drivers for your Photosmart 7500A. I have included a link for you to sign up to get an email when there is update to your printer.
I have included a document on installing and using the printer for Mavericks. The document walks you through installing the printer using Apple Software Update.

  • rying to get Photoshop CS4 functional with Mavericks and an Epson 3880 printer. CS4 fails to send a file to the print queue. Have reinstalled the Epson 3880 driver for Mavericks. All looks good but no file is sent.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

What EXACT version of Photoshop CS4 are you running? You should be on Photoshop CS4 v 11.0.2.
Also run Apple's software update to see whether it offers you the latest Epson update:
    Printer Driver v9.33
Epson Stylus Pro 3880, Drivers & Downloads - Technical Support - Epson America, Inc.
MOST IMPORTANTLY: have Photoshop re-create its own Preferences:
To re-create the preferences files for Photoshop, start the application while holding down Ctrl+Alt+Shift (Windows) or Command+Option+Shift (Mac OS). Then, click Yes to the message, 'Delete the Adobe Photoshop Settings file?'
Note: If this process doesn't work for you while you're using a wireless (Bluetooth) keyboard, attach a wired keyboard and retry.
Important: If you re-create the preferences by manually deleting the Adobe Photoshop CS6 Settings file, make sure that you only delete that file. If you delete the entire settings folder, you also delete any unsaved actions or presets.
Reinstalling Photoshop does not remove the preferences file. Before reinstalling Photoshop, re-create your preferences.
NEW Video! Julieanne Kost created a video that takes you through two ways of resetting your Photoshop preferences. The manual preference file removal method is between 0:00 - 5:05. The keyboard shortcut method is between 5:05 - 8:18. The video is located here:

Important: Apple made the user library folder hidden by default with the release of Mac OS X 10.7. If you require access to files in the hidden library folder to perform Adobe-related troubleshooting, see How to access hidden user library files.

  • I cannot load Maverick on my iMac HD. It reports that my HD is used for Time Machine backups and will not load to that drive. I do not use this drive for backups. I use an external 1 TB WD My Book for backups as well as Super Duper Backups. Can anyone offer advice. Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
You have got the 'Backups.backupdb' folder in the root level of your hard drive. This is the folder used by Time Machine to save backups to, and the OS X Mavericks installer thought that your hard drive is being used to store Time Machine backups
To fix this, open a Finder window, select the Go menu (on the menu bar) > Go to Folder, and type:
Then, delete 'Backups.backupdb' and empty the Trash. Finally, open the Mavericks installer from the Applications folder and follow the steps

  • Hello
Does anyone know of an FDD for a mavericks mac? I would like to create boot disks for an old mac. Is this a good method to consider? I am not sure how else to go about this. If there is an alternative, whatever it might be, please let me know.
I apologise for posting here but this relates to older machines in a way.
    Thanks in advance.

The original system for a PowerBook 2400c/180 was 7.6.1. Other supported systems (according to Apple's technical specifications) were 8, 8.1, 8.5, 8.6 and 9. You would need to purchase an appropriate Apple system CD. Ensure that it is a retail disc (for all models), not a disc for a certain (other) machine.
You can use one of the Apple CD-ROM drives above, providing that you have the proper HDI-30 cable. See the manual for details about connecting SCSI devices and about booting from a CD.
If necessary, and if the already installed operating system is working (and you can navigate the Japanese menus), you should at least be able to create a Disk Tools PPC floppy on the PowerBook. Use the Disk Copy 6.3.3 program (the Make a Floppy command under the Utilities menu) for this. I assume that you have the external floppy disk drive for the PowerBook.

    http://download.info.apple.com/Apple_Support_Area/Apple_Software_Updates/English -North_American/Macintosh/Utilities/Disk_Copy/Disk_Copy_6.3.3.smi.bin
One may also want to try to modify a Disk Tools PPC to hold CD-ROM software, thus allowing a CD to be read when the computer is running from the floppy disk system.
Additionally, since the computer in question has PC Card slots, an inexpensive PC Card adapter for CompactFlash and a CompactFlash memory card can be very useful for file transfers. In certain PowerBook models, such a CompactFlash card (reformatted to Mac) can even act as a startup disk (if it has an appropriate system folder).

  • I'm currently running Mac OS Snow Leopard (10.6.8) on my 24' iMac and would like to clone my current drive to an external drive & then update that external drive to Mac OS Maverick. First, can this be done to create an external Boot drive for my iMac System? Secondly, can I then select the internal system (OS 10.6.8) or the external drive Maverick OS system at boot time?

Probably will depend on just what your machine is - i.e. how current and fast is the internal hardware.
Generally though, the performance booting off a firewire 800 should be fine for most things with little if any system lag. My late-2008 MBP ( 2.53Ghz core-2 duo, 8GB RAM) runs quite well when booted from a firewire 800 drive (7200rpm - even my 5400rpm portable clone is perfectly useable).
Just remember if using the external for a long or serious work session, if the power goes out, that external is not going to be powered off battery (I keep my full size external drives plugged into a UPS because of that).

  • Photosmart B8550 driver for Maverick NOT AVAILABLE.
The website should say that it has it, or it doesn't! So ambiguious..
Call tech support and for a kindly $25 box we'll show a work around. I interpret that to be obsolesence. You are up to date or you are not. The refund of the money is more complicated to monitor than when the softweare patch would be available, at least 5 times more complicated. Wait for the bank statement to see if ther money was refunded, and than follow up for the refund, come ON!

    Tomesh,
Problem is not so clear but I can say you can try these things.
    1. Are you trying to do retroactive calculation for particular employee . If yes, then check the driver perk wage type validity period.
    2. If you are using some constant table to calculate Driver's perk value then you must check that contact table and dates mentioned there.

  • Scanner driver for Konica Minolta 1690MF will not work since new operating system Maverick.
Update driver came from konica minolta - not through an Apple software update.
Konica M 1690MF will print as normal but 'image capture' is empty.

Same problem. I emailed KM support. Was told new drivers were being considered. Not sure what that means. No date given. Have tried several 3rd party drivers, but none work. Would love for someone to post a solution.

  • Has anyone successfully connected a Dell wireless printer B1160W using Mavericks 10.9.1? If not, what laser printers
have you successfully used wirelessly with no trouble?

I don't have a Dell printer, but this worked for me, for getting my HP to work with Mavericks:
    Try:
uninstall all printer manufacturer apps and 'utilities'
go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners > Print
control-click on your printer in the column on the left
select 'Reset Printing System..' and 'reset' in the dialog that follows
do a factory reset on your printer. You'll have to consult the printer manual for how.
power down everything: modem, router, computer, and printer
power up each item in turn in the same order: modem, router, computer, and printer. Let each power up completely before moving on to the next
enter your wifi password in your printer so it can connect to the network
go back to printers & scanners and it should see your printer and download a driver for it from Apple
If this doesn't work, I'd go back to the Dell website and see if they have any updated drivers or utilities.
If that doesn't work, I'd take a look at gutenprint and see if they have a driver: Gutenprint for Mac OS X

  • Trying to connect a HP LaserJet M1005 printer to a TimeCapsule via Bonjour and add this printer to a fairly new Macbook Pro 13 Retina with Mac OSX10.9.
It used to work fine before I upgraded to 10.9. Now it can´t find any driver even after I run the Software update. It says it´s not available on the apple server right now.
On HP website it says the way to install is to use Apple Software update. Can´t even add the printer with USB, same thing no driver installed.
    So now what?

It doesn't look like there is a Mavericks-compatible driver for your printer.
    Your options are:
see if you can use AirPrint or a generic driver: OS X Mountain Lion: If the software for your printer can’t be found
see if there is a driver for your printer at Gutenprint for Mac OS X
go back to Mountain Lion: How to revert OS X back from Mavericks: Apple Support Communities

I just got a new MacBook Pro, and I am trying to print on my network to a HP Color LaserJet 2600n that is attached via USB to a Windows XP PC. I have carefully followed the instruction posted on http://www.ifelix.co.uk/tech/3015.html and I am still unable to print. I made sure the printer name on the remote Windows PC has no spaces.
Problem: After I enter (on my Mac) my Windows PC user name and password to access the user account on the remote Windows PC, I get the following error message:
Unable to connect to server with the provided password and user name. Error: 256
The Windows PC is running the Windows XP Firewall, the Avast Antivirus, and Windows Defender. I have deactivated all these applications and the issue persists. I called Apple yesterday (I am still in my 90-day free support since this is a new MacBook Pro). After some basic troubleshooting with a tier one rep, I was transfered to a tier 2 rep who told me after making sure that I was following the right steps to try to add the printer, that since the HP LaserJet 2600n printer is connected to a Windows XP computer, my set-up is not supported by Apple and declined continuing troubleshooting the issue. According to this person Apple will only support network printing when the printer is directly attached to a hub/router. The equipment room has the cable connection, the cable modem, the hub/router, the wireless access point and is located in one building and the office where all the PCs are (including the HP Color LaserJet 2600n printer) is located in another building.
Please help! Thank you!
